Hoboken Restaurant Week

January 23rd to February 3rd

Winter restaurant week takes place at the end of January through the first few days of February. While many of the same restaurants participate year after year – there are 2 new additions for 2017! Halifax and Havana Cafe will offer up delicious restaurant week menus.

Jersey City Wine Fest

Wine Fest is your all access pass to hundreds of new wines from around the world. Travel the world of wine at Harborside’s waterfront property. Guests will enjoy unlimited wine samples for the entire evening paired with live entertainment, food and interactive games.

March 2017

8th Hoboken Chili Cook-Off & Home Brewing Contest

March 11th from 2-6PM

Typically held in February, this years cookoff will take place on March 11th at Our Lady of Grace Gym located at 422 Willow Avenue. There’s also an after party at Jack & Co!  Your ticket to the event gets you 1 free drink at the after party. The goal this year is to raise $20K for TRUE Mentors, Hoboken’s only one-on-one mentoring program for children ages 7-17.

May 2017

Midnight Market in Jersey City

May 12th from 6:30PM-Midnight

Enjoy a foodie night market in Jersey City at the Harborside Atrium. Each month different vendors participate, so there’s always something new to check out! There is an entrance fee of $5, but once inside you can enjoy a DJ, food vendors, and $5 drinks. Get the details here.

Hoboken Irish Festival

May 13th 1from 12PM-6PM

The Hoboken Irish Festival starts at 12PM at Sinatra Park. Enjoy live music, Irish step dancing, an Irish Soda Bread Contest and shop around for unique crafts, clothing, and more.

June 2017

2017 Spring Arts & Music Festival

June 11th from 11AM-6PM

The Spring Arts & Music Festival will take place in early June in a new location on Washington St. between 8th & 14th Street. In the past the festival has taken over all of Washington St, but now it’s limited to a smaller area. There will be over 300 artists, food vendors, crafts, 3 musical performances and a kid-friendly activities.

Movies Under the Stars Begins!

June 14th

Movies under the Stars kicks off on June 14th starting with the 1974 movie Young Frankenstein. Movies will play every Wednesday throughout the Summer at Pier A in Hoboken. This year there will also be 1 movie shown at Maxwell Place Park and 1 shown at Mama Johnson Field.

Guitar Bar World Record Challenge

July 20th at 6PM

Guitar Bar will try to beat the world record for “most people playing a stringed instrument on the same song”.  Guitar Bar is asking people to bring their acoustic guitar, mandolin, ukulele or any other acoustic string instrument. This year, they will play “Knockin on Heaven’s Door”.

Spaghetti Dinner Block Party Fundraiser

August 25th from 5-8PM

Purchase tickets to the annual Spaghetti Dinner Block Party that occurs along the water front each year in Hoboken. There will be lots of carbs, with 4 kinds of pasta – but also meatballs, sausage and eggplant parmigiana, salad, bread, dessert, live music and kid-friendly activities. Tickets are $200 for a table of 10. Wine, beer and soda cost extra with the funds raising money for the Hoboken Ambulance Corp.

Where can you buy tickets? Not online – only in-person – at City Hall on 94 Washington Street on the 2nd floor at the Cultural Affairs Office.

“The Spaghetti Dinner Block Party was an event that was started in 2005 to celebrate Hoboken’s 150th Anniversary. The idea was to recreate a community event that took place in 1955 for the City’s 100th Anniversary – a Spaghetti Dinner Block Party on Washington St. It has been so popular we have continued this tradition, but now the event takes place along the Hoboken waterfront, overlooking the Manhattan Skyline.”

Bark in the Park

October 1st from 12PM – 6PM

Bark in the Park is Liberty Humane Society’s biggest fundraiser of the year and the biggest pet festival in Hudson County at Steven’s Park (Hudson & 4th Street)! Each year hundreds of participants, vendors, and sponsors come together in Steven’s Park in Hoboken to celebrate the work (and the animals!) of LHS. Visitors enjoy a celebratory dog-walk/parade, live entertainment, a free bounce-house & children’s activities, and delicious food & awesome vendors throughout the day!

Harvest Festival

October 22nd from 11AM – 3PM

Get in the Halloween Spirit with hay rides, a hay maze, pony rides, petting zoo, moonwalk, face painting,
pumpkin painting, balloon art, craft activities, soccer, dance & gymnastic demos, live music & dance and much more.

Ragamuffin Parade

The Ragamuffin Parade begins on Washington and 13th St at 3PM, with a costume contest at the Little Leauge Field on 5th and River Terrace. Come dressed in costume for the chance to win a prize!

Artist Studio Tour

November 6th at 12-6PM

On Sunday, November 6th join the Artist Studio Tour in Hoboken. It’s a free self-guided tour of studios, galleries and exhibitions featuring over 100 local artists. Maps will be available in the lobby of Hoboken City Hall at 94 Washington Street (between 1st & Newark Street) on the day of the tour.

Holiday Craft Fair

December 3rd & 4th at 11AM-5PM

Every year, Hoboken holds a holiday craft fair filled with beautiful hand-crafted gifts, crafts, food, and more.


Christmas Tree Lighting

December 6th at 5PM

Watch the Hoboken Christmas Tree Lighting in early December with an appearance from none other than Elvis the Elf, Santa Claus and more in front of City Hall.

Hoboken Santa Con

December 17th at 11AM-ish

SantaCon is when everyone dresses up like santa, elves, snowflakes, or anything holiday-related and has a merry good time at the bars. VThe event usually starts in the morning with most bars opening around 11AM. Some bars are open earlier offering kegs and eggs. iew a listof participating santa con bars.

July 2014

The 104th St. Ann’s Festival

July 23rd-25th from 6-11PM – July 26th from 12-11PM – July 27th from 1-11PM

It’s the 104th St. Ann’s festival this July! One of Hoboken’s best kept traditions, there will be music, carnival games, food galore and of course the fried, sugary, amazing-ness of St. Ann’s Famous Zeppoles.

PRO TIP: If you plan on downing a zeppole or two (or three!), wear light colors and avoid black clothing at all costs. The powdered sugar will fly everywhere. But it’s so worth it.


 

Food Truck Frenzy Festival

Thursday, July 17th – August 21st – September 18th 4-11PM

Held every third thursday of the month at Pier 13, stop by the Food Truck Frenzy for some wild treats. From the exotic meats at Dark Side of the Moo to the classic brick oven pizzas cooked up by the Napoli food truck (try the truffle oil pizza!), there’s always something new to taste. December 2014

City Hall Holiday Craft Fair

Sat & Sun, December 6-7th 11AM-5PM

Visit City Hall to explore 3 floors filled with  jewelry, photographs, candles and a variety of unique, handcrafted items. It’s a great spot to get a thoughtful gifts for the holidays. Our pick? The cheeky handmade soaps with adult puns.

Psst – Mrs. Clause will be on the 2nd floor and D’s Soulful cafe will be selling food and drinks.
